Do You Have an Idea on How to Stop the BP Oil Spill?
It seems that with every passing day, we hear another new idea on how to stop the BP oil spill. We have heard about the "top hat," the "junk shot," Kevin Costner's certifuges and even a nuclear bomb. None of them have worked. So here is your chance. You can't do any worse than Nobel prize winners and other experts. So give it a shot.

Add 50,000 barrels of vinager and make the gulf into one large bowl of salad dressing.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm kidding. Too soon to do so? But really, does this sound any more rediculous than the junk shot?
Isn't there some animal on Earth that eats crude oil as part of its normal diet? But then what comes out the other end may be worse than the oil!
ReplyDeleteCall in Revlon and Oil of Olay. Can't they make lipstick or some face gue out of this stuff?
ReplyDeleteLet's advertize that the oil globs that wash ashore are a health aide. It must cure something. Maybe hemorrhoids. Then millions would flock to the beaches to scoop up all this stuff at no cost to anyone and the gulf tourist industry would be back in business.

ReplyDeleteWe have the wrong POV on this spill. We should be looking at it as an opportunity to secure our oil addicted future. Let's stop trying to get the oil out of the Gulf. Why not build a giant barrier from Key West to Cancun. Then we can begin pumping the remaining water out of the Gulf. Open up the dry seabed to massive drilling and allow the Gulf basin to become one giant oil reserve. We will be the envy of the world with our own trillion barrel ready supply of oil at our doorstep.
