Is Obama Doing Enough About the Oil Spill

Most informed observers believe that the BP oil spill in the gulf is the worst environmental disaster in our country's history. If so, is President Obama doing enough? If not, what more should he be doing?

  1. I think that President Obama is now doing the right thing with his repeated trips to the gulf coast. However, I think that No Drama Obama was a bit slow to do this. I hope he continues to be a very hands on at-the-site leader.

  2. In my opinion I think he is doing everything possible. I hope the anti environmentalists are happy that what was feared has finaly come to pass. What is terribly distressing was the statement by A BP Executive that the company was not prepared for this type of disaster. It seems to me the Captain of the Titanic was quoted that "the ship was so well built that not even God could sink it" which is why the ship didn't have enough life boats.

I guess when you are making between $10,000,000 and $100,000,0000 you don't have to worry that greed can lead to the entire destruction of a sacred eco system and the employment of thousands of people.

  3. I think that President Obama needs to do everything that the Federal government can do including getting the military involved to clean up the mess on the shore line. Can't the US Navy do something to stop the oil from gushing out of the well? Obviuosly, BP can't.

  4. This seems like it is becoming Obama's Iran hostage situation. Every day the oil just keeps gushing out with no credible end in sight. And that is all that the media is reporting. While Obama may be calling in experts to see whose ass to kick, his first priority whould be to find the guy who can stop the leak.
