The Senate is scheduled to have a vote tomorrow (Saturday, 11/21/09) on whether to bring the health insurance reform bill to the floor for debate. Harry Reid says that he is confident that he will have the 60 votes necessary to get this done. Your thoughts?
I don't know which will be the better game to watch on Saturday - Michigan vs. Ohio State or the Democrats vs. the Republicans or maybe I should say most Democrats vs. some Democrats. I think the Senate game will probably be more exciting than watching OSU demolish Michigan.
ReplyDeleteIt will be another great win for President Obama and the Democrats if they get this passed. If the Republicans and Lieberman want to filibuster, I hope the Democrats let them so that we can watch hour after hour and day after day of the Republicans reading the Bible, etc. Remember "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington."
ReplyDeleteI think that we Republicans are often villified by libral Democrats as hard-hearted SOB's who don't care about the uninsured. I for one do care about the uninsured; however, I also care about a Federal government that commands that we must buy health care insurance or pay a fine and if we don't pay the fine, we could be subjected to jail time.
ReplyDeleteMany like to compare the requirement that one must purchase auto insurance in order to drive. However, that analogy fails when one considers that the law will require a person to buy health care insurance in order to live free.
Hey guys, you can have your football and eat it too. The game is on at noon but the Senate won't get around to voting until tonight. I hope that Reid is up to Pelosi standards in getting this bill passed.
ReplyDeleteI am sad to hear that Bill Craft died. He was a very easy person to like.
ReplyDeleteI too am very sad to learn that Bill Craft died. I know of Bill more for his positive activities and influence in the Northville community at large than his efforts related to the Northville Democratic Club. We have all lost a real treasure.
