Tax Credit for Pets?

Our Congressman McCotter has introduced a bill to give all Ameicans a tax credit of $3,500 for pet care. What do you think?

  1. I have a dog which I love dearly. However, with all of the debt that we have in this country, a tax credit for pets seems over-the-top. McCotter is pandering.

  2. This is outrageous! We are involved in two wars, unemplyment is about to top 10%, health care is in crisis with 41 million Americans uninsured, our deficit is exploding and our planet's environment is going into the toilet with grenhouse gases and what is McCotter concerned about? A tax credit for pet care. When I first heard this I thought it was a joke. Now I know that McCotter is a joke. He has got to go.

  3. Hold on there Victor. Wasn't it your Obama who said that we should be able to walk and chew gum at the same time? Just because we have other problems to deal with doesn't mean that we can't deal with something like pet care which is very important to many people, especially the elderly who often have a pet as their principal and loving companion.

  4. Dear Proud Republican:

Although I appreciate your comment, I must agree with Janice and Victor. I think that although McCotter may be sympatetic to the needs of pets, he does not show the same sympathy for the needs of people and this is sad.

  5. I love my dog! And now I am starting to love Republicans. McCotter is making it easy on us. With all that is going on, unemployment, huge deficits, a failing health care system, global warming, etc. and our dear representative is worried about tax credits for our dogs. Poor McCotter he couldn't attend or sponsor a health care forum during the summer recess but he's got our pets' backs. You go McCotter!
