The Public Option Is In

Today, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reed announced that the so called public action is in the health care reform bill that will go to the Senate floor for debate. However, it will contain an opt out provision for individual states. Your thoughts?

  1. I am most concerned about the "level playing field" provision in the proposed bill. If the public option has to charge the same premiums as the private health insurance companies, then why have it at all? I thought the public option was supposed to provide real competition. If the level playing field is in the bill, then that wont do it.

  2. I hear that Liberman is going to vote against closure. And to think that he ran for Vice President with Al Gore. He is a traitor.
