President Obama Awarded Nobel Peace Prize

President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Did he deserve it? If yes or no, why?

  1. Absolutely! While the commission's selection process began with Obama having been in office only two months, it recognized what a transformative figure Obama is and can be for the world. Smart group, if you ask me. Of course, the Republicans have already poo pooed the award. They can't stand his success. Too bad about bringing the Olympics to Chicago; but this more than makes up for it.

  2. I agree with Anonymous. Although Obama said he didn't desrve it, I think just the opposite.

  3. Not only is this a feather in President Obama's cap, it is also a repudiation of Bush and his administration. And it's about time.

  5. I hate to throw a wet blanket on this celebration; however, the latest word is that Obama will send 60,000 more troops to Afghanistan which is 20,000 more than the 40,000 asked for by General McKrystal. Not exactly a move one would expect by a Peace Prize recipient.

  6. Well it appears that the majority of commentators are happy about President Obama being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. However, what else would you expect on a Democratic blog. Nonetheless, thank you all for your input and keep your comments coming.

  7. Well finally there is something that Obama and I agree on. Obama said he didn't deserve the Noble Peace Prize and I agree.

  10. Eh. It's not my prize to award. They could award it to Matt Millen, and it still wouldn't matter.

Okay, I take that back. Millen deserves no accolades.
